Welcome, Summer! Time to emerge into the sunlight from the confines of your houses and get out and make it a great day.
Manitowoc Public Library loves to have a good time during the Summer by offering amazing and fun programs to attend. One of our newer offerings this year is “Movie Nights at the Library!” We showcase both new and classic movies each month.
Over the next couple of months, we would love to have all the families in the area come join us for our next two movies. It’s the perfect time to arrange a great outing to see a great movie. Or two!
Our family-friendly screenings for July and August are as follows:
- On Thursday, July 20, at 5 PM, we’ll be showing the classic swashbuckling, witty romance, The Princess Bride
- Then, come Thursday, August 10, you’ll be able to take in Disney’s latest magical, musical, animated family masterpiece, Encanto, once again at 5 PM.
Have your family embark on an adventure in July with Princess Buttercup and Wesley amid far-off lands with a memorable cast of eccentric characters. Then in August, with Mirabel as your guide, stop by the family Madrigal’s casa and experience all the awesome powers her family members can show you with Mirabel.

Additionally, we’re encouraging families to bring food and beverages to the showings of these two fun movies. Turn an evening of cinema at MPL into a Dinner and a Movie Night!
But fear not–if you would happen to forget a homemade feast, popcorn and drinks will also be provided to the famished absolutely free-of-charge! However they sort themselves out, we’re talking about two phenomenal “Movie Nights at the Library” here!
So, what are you waiting for? Families—please join us on Thursday, July 20 for The Princess Bride and on Thursday, August 10, for Encanto. Make this a summer of magical family memories with great movies at our beloved library.
See you at the movies!
