Recent rainfall in southern Wisconsin could potentially alleviate the region’s drought conditions.
According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, as of Tuesday, the southern third of the state was still experiencing severe drought.
However, this assessment does not account for the rain that occurred in parts of southern Wisconsin on Wednesday.
The report indicates that the remainder of Wisconsin remains relatively dry, although not to the same extent as the southern portion of the state.
The effects of this week’s precipitation on the drought will become clearer in the coming week.
