Public health managers in Dane County have reached a resolution regarding the COVID-related penalties imposed on a local dance studio for its Nutcracker production.
A Leap Above, the studio in question, was fined $24,000 by Public Health Madison & Dane County for allegedly violating pandemic protocols during its 2020 performance.
The violations included allowing parents to attend in shifts and record their children’s dance routines.
Although the studio’s owner claimed to have met the conditions set by PHMDC, the health department disagreed.
As a result, the case was escalated to the Wisconsin Supreme Court, and PHMDC emerged victorious.
However, last month, the health managers made the decision to drop the fines and bring the case to a close.
