Authorities in Janesville have made an intriguing discovery as a car was recovered from the Rock River earlier this week.
Surprisingly, the vehicle was reported stolen back in 1993. Utilizing a sonar device, an individual came across the submerged car at Riverside Park, prompting crews to retrieve it from the river.
Upon inspection, it became evident that the car had been reported stolen three decades ago.
Janesville Police have refrained from disclosing any details regarding the circumstances surrounding the car’s presence in the river, leaving it shrouded in mystery.
Investigators have since contacted the owner of the stolen vehicle, and as a result, the case has been officially closed.
