Despite giving up 11 hits on the night, the Green Bay Rockers were able to squeak out a 6-5 over the Wausau Woodchucks.
The Rockers would hold a 6-1 lead entering the 6th inning when the Woodchucks exploded for four runs off of reliever Jacob Faulkner to make a game of it.
Michael Riley and Tyler Horvath would lock it down for the final 12 outs, allowing just two hits the rest of the way and salvaging a solid start by Christian Foutch.
He went four innings, allowing just one run on five hits while striking out 7 batters. Kendal Ewell led the Rockers’ offense with a pair of hits in four at-bats.
With the win, the Rockers improved their lead in the Great Lakes West Division to a game and a half over the Woodchucks and the Wisconsin Rapids Raptors.
Green Bay will look to extend that lead tonight, this time in Wausau.
The Rockers’ Grayson Walker will be on the bump against Isaac Crabb with a 6:35 p.m. first pitch at Athletic Park.
