Trucks and dozers and mixers—Oh, My!
Who loves big trucks? Just about every little kid out there—and, let’s face it, some big kids too! There’s just something mighty about being around that much horsepower and seeing all those vehicles in one place. The shiny red gleam of a fire truck. The massive mixer of a cement truck. The familiar favorite police car.
This year’s “Touch the Trucks” event is going to be happening on Wednesday, July 12, from 10 AM to 12 PM in the Briess Parking Lot, across Quay Street from Manitowoc Public Library. And if past attendance is an indicator, get ready for a busy, high-energy event. Last year’s event drew almost 1,000 attendees—many of them littles who got to climb aboard the vehicles, toot the horn, turn the wheel, wave to their parents, and pose for pics. Yes, it will be busy. Yes, it will be loud. Yes, it will be a blast!

This is the stuff dreams are made of. Little kids often dream of becoming firefighters or police officers. Some just inherently have the need for speed. And while they won’t be driving-off in these trucks anytime soon—at least not at this event (and until they’re at least 16!)—“Touch the Trucks” brings these dreams a little closer to reality.
On the periphery, we’ll have a small area where the littles can play with pint-sized trucks (those can be fun, too!).
Bring the littles (and their stuffies—what teddy bear doesn’t want to pose in an excavator scoop?). Bring the camera. Bring the energy (and maybe a little patience too—grown-ups, we’re talking to you!)
Oh yeah, let’s hope for good weather! See you there! Beep, Beep!
