For the past year, the Patriot Riders of America, WI Chapter 2 have been helping veterans in Eastern Wisconsin.
Their very first project took place in July of last year, where they helped a local Vietnam veteran’s spouse with various yard projects and small engine maintenance.
Since then have helped numerous other veterans, and raised money to continue their mission.
Their contributions to the veteran community are to many to name, but Club President Tommy Knapp tells us they have totaled nearly 3,200 volunteer hours from their members whom he said “have dedicated their time to our Veterans and their families, our Elderly and our Public Safety Personnel in our communities.”
Upcoming events include two brat fries at Festival Foods this coming Saturday (July 8th) and on September 2nd, the Dustin J Knapp Memorial Car/Bike Show on August 12th, and helping scrub gravestones during this year’s Civil War Gravesite Restoration.
That event is scheduled for September 23rd at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc.
