Even more praise is coming in from Republican leaders in Madison on the budget which currently sits on Governor Tony Evers’ desk.
Representative Terry Katsma of Oostburg, much like his other Republican colleagues, touted the $4.4 billion tax cut on the budget, but he also praised the change in the tax plan.
Rep. Katsma explained that the new plan, “reduces the bottom rate to 3.5%, the second two rates to 4.4%, and the top rate to 6.5%.”
He said this change, “is a step in the right direction to stay competitive with our Midwestern neighbors” and that it is “focusing our cuts on those middle-class families in Wisconsin who have been hit the hardest during these inflationary times.”
As of this morning, Governor Evers has yet to sign the budget into law.
