One of the two men arrested in Manitowoc County earlier this year on a check stealing case has been sentenced.
29-year-old Dionta Bratcher of Chicago was previously found guilty due to no-contest pleas on three counts of Theft of Movable Property as Party to the Crime and was ordered by Judge Jerilyn Dietz to spend six months in the County Jail concurrent on each count.
Bratcher was also ordered to pay $1,003 by August 13th. Failure to pay would result in an additional 20 days in jail.
Bratcher and Derrell J. Edwards were arrested in February after they stole over $500,000 from businesses in the Village of Greenville by taking checks out of incoming and outgoing mail.
Those checks were later altered and cashed.
Bratcher was given credit for 128 days served in jail.
Edwards’ legal process remains ongoing.
