In Washburn County, there was a chase and an officer-involved shooting; one deputy is recovering and two others are on leave.
On Sunday, it all began with a traffic stop.
The suspect then allegedly sped off, drove to a campground, and made an attempt to hide, according to deputies.
He escaped, according to the sheriff’s office, because a deputy’s car broke down and collided with some trees.
Cut out of the vehicle and taken to the hospital was the deputy.
Deputies first came across the suspect on Monday while they were looking for him. According to the sheriff, the suspect then drove at the officers, whose tires he then shot out.
Not long after, the man was taken into custody.
The two deputies who fired at the car are on leave, as is the case in officer-involved shootings.
