Thomas A. Meyer, age 67, a resident of Manitowoc, entered into eternal life early Saturday morning, June 24, 2023 at the family residence.
Tom was born on April 15, 1956 in Manitowoc. He was the son of the late Charles and Dorothy Zimmerman Meyer. Tom was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the class of 1974. He was employed with Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry for 46 years retiring in 2018. On September 28, 1985 he married Wendy A. Meissen at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clarks Mills. Tom was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, the Maribel Sportsman’s Club, life member of the NRA, and also a member of the Chiefs Youth Football Organization where he was the past President and also had been a coach in past years. Tom as a racing enthusiast and a driver for the Team Denart from 1980 to 1984 in the economodified division. He enjoyed hunting and following all of the Wisconsin sports teams.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Wendy, three sons, Andy Meyer and special friend, Taylor Wilson of Sheboygan, Nicholas Meyer and Cody Meyer both of Manitowoc; two brothers, Dennis Meyer, Waukesha and Timothy (Debbie) Meyer, Manitowoc; one sister, Vicky (Randy) Modra, Franklin; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Melissa and Dave Remiker, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Dorothy Meyer, one sister-in-law, Joyce Meyer, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Raymond and Barbara Meissen, and two brothers-in-law, Todd and Jay Meissen.
Funeral services will be held 5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home with Deacon Alan Boeldt officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 p.m. until the time of services at 5 p.m. Following the funeral service a dinner will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home. Burial will take place on Thursday morning at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc with a private ceremony for the family only.
