Darlene L. Hengel (Koch), age 79, our beautiful, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went home peacefully to spend Christmas with Jesus on December 23rd, 2022 at her residence with her loving family surrounding her after a courageous 22-year battle with cancer.
Visitation will take place at St. Anne Catholic Church, 202 S Packer Dr., Francis Creek, on Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 9 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 A.M. celebrated by Rev. Christian Raj. Following the service there will be a Celebration of Life/80th Heavenly Birthday party for Darlene at the Branch baseball park (BARA), 8733 US Hwy. 10, Whitelaw. Darlene’s cremated remains will be laid to rest at a later date at the St. Anne’s Cemetery in Francis Creek.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials towards a bench at the Lincoln Park Zoo, Manitowoc in Darlene’s memory.
We can’t express our thanks and gratitude enough to the late Dr. Barylak, Dr. Saphner, staff of Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic and Sharon S. Richardson Hospice for their compassion and love shown to our precious wife, mom, grandma and our entire family and especially our “Angel” nurse Kelly the last 4 days of mom’s life.
