The Green Bay Rockers used a big 8th inning to take down the Lakeshore Chinooks 7-5 last night (June 19th) in front of a home crowd.
The Chinooks lead 5-4 after an offense heavy first five innings, but the bats fell silent for the visitors after that.
The Rockers also struggled to score anything until the bottom of the 8th, when Carlos Hernandez stepped to the plate and blasted a three-run shot over the right field wall.
Jacob Faulkner would close out the game and pick up the win while allowing only one hit over the final two frames.
Hernandez went 3-5 on the day and knocked in four total runs. Cooper Kelly would add a pair of hits in four at-bats, as would JoJo Jackson, with the duo combining to bring in the other three runs.
The Rockers, who have won seven of their last eight outings, will take on the Chinooks again today, with first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m. at Capital Credit Union Park.
