
The Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Office has identified the Two Rivers man who drowned in a lake over the weekend.
Sheriff Matt Joski tells Seehafer News that 28-year-old Jose Javier Contreas was at Krohn’s Lake County Park Saturday afternoon when he jumped off the end of a dock into the lake.
The Sheriff’s Office was called when he did not resurface.
Numerous other police and fire rescue departments were on the scene as well. Contreas’ body was pulled from the lake just after 6:00 p.m.
The incident remains under investigation.
Sheriff Joski issued a statement, noting “It is always important to understand the potential risks when engaged in the many water recreational activities during the summer months.”
