A Manitowoc man is facing charges after he allegedly sexually assaulted a family member.
The Manitowoc Police Department was contacted after Child Protective Services received a report of a local middle school student that appeared to be pregnant.
The family of the young girl is known to help Nicaraguan immigrants get settled, so numerous men were believed to potentially be the father.
A DNA test was conducted on these men, as well as the girl’s father, and it was confirmed that her 51-year-old father was the one that impregnated her.
The man was arrested but denied any wrongdoing.
He has been charged with Incest with a Child, but, as investigators are in the process of interviewing other children he has been in contact with, additional charges may be filed.
