The meat packing plant in Abbotsford is looking at more than a quarter-million dollars in safety fines after its latest inspection.
After one worker lost a fingernail tip and another had his hand crushed, OSHA yesterday issued a $277,000 fine order for Abbyland Foods.
Abbyland has previously received fines from OSHA, and the agency accused plant managers of continuing to “ignore its legal responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.”
