
Sunday afternoon’s fatal collision in Grant County is being blamed on a woman who they observed to be intoxicated.
It happened at the junction of Highway 81 and Settlement Road in the Township of Cassville at around 1:00 p.m.
According to deputies, a woman allegedly sped through a stop sign before crashing into the car of a 52-year-old Cassville man.
The collision forced the man’s vehicle into a ditch.
He was thrown from the car, according to investigators, and passed away there.
The woman, according to the sheriff’s office, was detained and taken to the Grant County Jail.
