Two Green Bay men are heading to federal prison for their role in a fentanyl distribution case.
24-year-old Don A.K. James Jr. was given a 15-year sentence, while Fredrick L. Brewer was ordered to spend 12 years in prison.
Both men were convicted on charges of Conspiracy to Distribute Fentanyl, Possessing Fentanyl with Intent to Distribute, and Distributing Fentanyl.
This case was a bit unique, as the duo had conspired with a source in Arizona to buy thousands of counterfeit Percocet pills, which actually contained fentanyl.
It was estimated that the two men, who are brothers, at one point had roughly 30,000 pills ready to sell.
Of the pills collected, the DEA estimated that 60% of them contained a lethal dosage.
