Despite giving up two early runs, the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers’ pitchers were solid last night as they help the Appleton-based team pick up their second win in a row over the Peoria Chiefs 5-2.
Edwin Jimenez went the first 6 innings, allowing solo home runs in both the 1st and 3rd innings, but locked it down from there.
He allowed 5 hits and struck out four batters. Max Lazar would come on in the 7th to pick up the save.
At the plate, Eric Brown Jr. had a day to remember.
He went 3 for 4 and scored twice, while Eduardo Garcia went 2-3 and drove in a run.
Matthew Wood may not have reached base safely, but he was responsible for hitting two runners home in the Rattlers’ win in front of a home crowd.
They will look to make it 3 straight at Fox Cities Stadium tonight.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:40 p.m., with Cameron Wagoner taking on Alex Cornwell.
