The Green Bay Rockers won their third straight game to start the Northwoods League Season in dramatic fashion last night.
9 innings weren’t enough for the Rockers and Wisconsin Rapids Rafters, as they took 10 innings to finish with a final score of 5-4 in favor of Green Bay.
Cole Peschl started the matchup on the mound for the Rockers and gave them 4 solid innings of one-hit ball while earning 8 strikeouts while giving up one run.
Jacob Faulkner and Jake Liberta split the remainder of the initial 9 innings with Faulkner allowing one more run.
Andrew Harris and Cooper Kelly would each drive in runs for the Rockers, leaving a 2-2 tie at the end of the 9th.
After Kyle Stoddard gave up a pair to the visiting Rafters, Harris came to bat and quickly erased the Rafters’ lead with a two-run shot to center field.
Then, with two on and 1 out, JoJo Jackson hit a sacrifice fly to complete the comeback.
The Rockers and Rafters will square off again this evening to complete the home and away series in Wisconsin Rapids.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. with Grayson Walker slatted to battle Brett Porthan on the mound.
