The Waters of the United States ruling, according to one of the biggest dairy organizations in Wisconsin, is a victory for all farmers.
The Venture Dairy Cooperative claims that the decision reins in Washington’s “unelected bureaucrats” who “have run amok.”
An Obama-era regulation that gave the EPA broad control over any location that could hold water, including wetlands and some farm fields that frequently flooded, was overturned by the unanimous decision of the U.S. Supreme Court.
Farm organizations have long complained that those federal regulations not only went too far but also denied the states the ability to regulate farms as they saw fit.
Farmers will no longer be subject to punishing federal regulations, according to The Venture Co-op.
