Summer is fast approaching and the Rahr-West Art Museum has you covered for all things art activities! We are delighted to share our wide range of summer classes (June – August) for every age and skill level. Our classes are designed to provide a fun and engaging learning opportunity with influence from our collection, exhibitions, and the broader art world.
To hightlight a few:
Clay Camp for youth (ages 5-12) happens monthly with a new, fun clay project to create!

Clay Camp – Coil Pots – July 5th & 26th – 1-2:30pm
Clay Camp – Sunflower Bowl – August 2nd & 23rd – 1-2:30pm
Alongside the Art as Poetry/Poetry as Art exhibit, teens can take the Art & Poetry course in June to create their own inspired work!
Art & Poetry – Teen Class – June 6th & 13th – 2-3pm
In July we are ramping up for our plein air event, Paint Out with classes for youth, teens, and adults on plein air painting. Step outside with us to paint en plein air (in open air)!

With Really Big Prints being on exhibit July 30 – September 17th, we are creating prints of our own in our youth, teen, and adult classes!

Linocut Printmaking – Teen Class – August 15th & 22nd – 2-3pm
Linocut Printmaking – Adult Class – August 17th – 6-8:30pm
Working Creatively Through Grief is our all ages class created for those seeking a positive outlet for navigating grief. This class is taught by our experienced art instructor and certified Therapeutic Art Coach, Michelle Bonde.

Looking for a quick and free drop in class? Wacky Weekend is a no registration required class where you can pop in and create some art every second Saturday of the month.

School tours are back! We work with each group of students to facilitate a fun, interactive tour with options for scavenger hunts, guided tours through the mansion, and art projects with our instructors.
