911 operators are urging you once more to use caution when using your phone.
The sheriff of Iowa County was the most recent to claim yesterday that people are unintentionally dialing 911 from their phones.
In Iowa County, there have been nearly 1200 911 misdials so far this year.
The county had 1300 for the entire previous year.
Dispatchers claim that people who simply pocket-dial 911 by simultaneously pressing the power and volume buttons on their iPhones and the new iPhone feature that automatically calls 911 in the event of an accident are both at fault.
According to the sheriff, if no one answers the call from 911, a deputy must be dispatched to make sure everything is alright.
