There was a fire at a Sheboygan business Tuesday afternoon.
Crews were dispatched to HTT World Stamping Inc at 1:00 p.m. on a report of a fire in the welding area of the building.
According to Battalion Chief Chase Longmiller, the first units on the scene reported heavy smoke visible from the outside and quickly acted to prevent the fire from spreading to additional equipment.
The situation was cleared by 3:00 p.m. and caused an estimated $15,000 to $20,000 in damage.
The cause was determined to have been a hot ember that went astray during the welding process.
No injuries were reported, however, the second shift workers were given the day off.
