
An individual suffered significant injuries in an apartment fire in Sheboygan over the weekend.
According to Sheboygan Fire Captain Andrew Quackenboss, crews were dispatched to the 1200 block of South 15th Street at around 6:45 p.m. Friday on a report of an appliance fire in an apartment.
First Responders reported heavy smoke coming from the apartment on the upper floor and quickly acted to rescue one person from the structure.
The flames were promptly controlled, and a search was conducted to make sure no one else was inside.
The sole individual in the apartment was treated at the scene before being taken to a local hospital for additional treatment.
No additional injuries were reported, and the fire caused an estimated $14,000 in damage.
