Roy N. Herrmann, age 63, of Valders, passed away Monday, May 15, 2023 at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee surrounded by his loving wife and children after a courageous battle with Morvan Syndrome, a very rare autoimmune neurologic disease.
Roy is survived by his loving wife, Joy; his five children: Cassandra (Jacob) Wenzel, Manitowoc; Rebecca (Joseph) Zoellner, La Crosse; Joanna (Ryan) Mertz, De Pere; Andrea (Matthew) Lesperance, St. Nazianz; Garrett (Toni) Herrmann, Valders; and his 10 grandchildren: Blase and Parker Wenzel; Addelay and Julianna Zoellner; Elleah and Bennett Mertz; MJ, Wade and Daphne Lesperance; Truett Herrmann.
He is further survived by his siblings: Roseann (Curt) Johnson, Manitowoc; Grace (John) Kimmes, Francis Creek; Carol (Ted) Ellestad, Fond du Lac; Mark (Diane) Herrmann, Cato; Teresa (Dennis) Westberg, Kewaunee; mother-in-law: Darlene Kaderabek, Branch; siblings-in-law: LouAnn (Ronn) Moore; Dennis (Jan) Kaderabek; Neal (Kay) Kaderabek; Lisa (Carl) Kuehn; Tim (Lisa) Kaderabek; Mark Kaderabek; Dean (Tammy) Kaderabek; Chad (Jennie) Kaderabek and Robert (Tina) Kaderabek. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents: Norbert and Jeannette Herrmann; one sister: Jean Herrmann; father-in-law, Ronald Kaderabek; and brother-in-law, Gene Kaderabek.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 25 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Whitelaw. Rev. Richard Klingeisen and Deacon Randy Jaeckels will concelebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial to follow at Branch Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Wednesday, May 24 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Thursday, May 25 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m.
The family would like to thank the neurological, surgical and medical doctors, nurses and staff at Froedtert Hospital for their delicate care of Roy as he fought Morvan’s Syndrome. Roy agreed to be a case study for this disease as the fifteenth documented case in the English language. It was his hope that research and further studies could help the medical community diagnose and treat this rare disease.
