The Manitowoc County Mariners’ offense struggled Saturday as the local semi-pro football team lost to the Fox River Raiders 39-22.
The offense’s only score came when Adrian Abeyta carried the ball into the endzone.
The rest came on the legs of defensive back Lance Billings II.
He not only had a pair of interceptions, but he also returned two kick-offs back to the house.
The Mariners have a bye week this weekend as they prepare for another road game against the Brown County Blackjacks.
Kickoff on June 3rd at St. Norbert’s Donald J. Stadium is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
The other local semi-pro team, the Sheboygan County SaberCats, picked up a win on the road.
They beat the Chicago Chaos 21-12, and also have this weekend off. On June 3rd, they will have their first home game of the season against the Lake County Spartans.
