A man was arrested in Manitowoc last week after he allegedly stabbed an individual.
Officers were sent to a residence on May 17th after a witness called dispatch to report the stabbing and that the suspect was kicking the victim.
The assault was still in progress as police arrived, but the suspect retreated into the house when he saw the lights.
The responding officers immediately began conducting lifesaving measures on the victim, whose name, age, and gender were redacted in the police report.
While the aid was being given, the 60-year-old male suspect exited the residence and resisted police officers and sheriff’s deputies as they attempted to take him into custody.
A TASER had to be deployed to bring the man into custody.
The knife believed to be used in the attack was found inside the residence, covered in blood.
The following day, a Detective spoke with the victim who said that the suspect became angry with them before shoving them to the floor.
The suspect allegedly straddled the victim and slowly pushed the knife into their body while they pleaded for him to stop.
The surgeon reportedly told the victim they were lucky to be alive.
The suspect is in the Manitowoc County Jail on charges of Attempted 1st Degree Intentional Homicide, Resisting or Obstructing an Officer, and two counts of Substantial Battery.
He is being held on a probation violation hold.
