The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers just couldn’t quite finish it off last night as they fell to the Quad Cities River Bandits 7-5.
The Rattlers started out strong plating one run in each of the first two innings, but then in the 4th, starting pitcher Alexander Cornielle gave up four runs.
The Rattlers, undeterred, bounced back quickly, plating two more runs in the bottom of the 5th inning.
Reliever Max Lazar gave up another run in the 7th, and Kaleb Bowman gave up two more in the 9th, but the Rattler offense never gave up.
They were able to score one more run, but couldn’t complete the comeback, and fell for the 4th time in a row.
Eric Brown Jr., the Milwaukee Brewers’ first pick in this year’s draft, went 2-4 at the plate and was walked once, while Robert Moore, who bats right after Brown, hit him home every time Brown was on base.
The Rattlers will finish their two week homestand this weekend, starting with a 6:40 p.m. contest tonight at Fox Cities Stadium.
The Saturday and Sunday matchups with the Bandits will begin at 1:10 p.m.
