A special presentation is taking place Saturday afternoon at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum.
The U.S.S. Lagarto Remembrance Ceremony is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
The Maritime Museum’s Emily Shedal recently shared information about the ceremony on the WCUB Breakfast Club.
“78 years ago, the crew of 86 men and the Lagarto were lost in the Gulf of Thailand,” she explained. “They were discovered nearly 60 years to the day they sank in 2005. We’re just going to have a short ceremony on Saturday to remember her 86 crew members and the sacrifice they made for our country.”
The ceremony is free to the public, and can be viewed from the Riverwalk outside of the museum.
