A former Two Rivers City Councilmember will forever be remembered in Central Park.
City Manager Greg Buckley told Seehafer News yesterday during his City Update on WOMT and WCUB Radio that the pavilion building in Central Park West is to be named the Jim Taddy Memorial Pavilion.
“Jim Taddy passed away in 2020,” Buckley noted. “[He was] born and raised in Two Rivers, and served a total of 23 years on City Council.”
In his passing, Taddy made sure the city he loved would be able to continue to thrive, as he made donations to the Police and Fire Departments, the Senior Center, and to the City in general totaling over $200,000.
Buckley tells us that“His $47,000 donation to the city was placed by council in the fundraising fund for Central Park West as the very first dollars into that fund.”

Speaking of fundraising, Buckley tells us that the City has reached its $800,000 fundraising goal, and that work on the park should be done in time for some major downtown events this summer.
“We look forward to the park being ready and available for activities certainly by the time of the Cool City Classic Car Show and Cruise at the end of July,” Buckley revealed.
The Schmidt Brothers Stage will be dedicated on Saturday, July 15th with a weekend of barbershop music, and the overall park dedication will happen on the 16th with a performance by the Spicy Tie Band that evening.
The stage will get a lot of use right off the bat, as the next weekend is the annual Bryan Lee Blues Festival.
