About 14 hours after they took down a fire in an apartment, the Sheboygan Fire Department was once again called into action last night.
Crews were dispatched to a home in the 1900 block of South 13th Street just after 10:30 p.m. on a report of a structure fire and an individual trapped on the roof.
The first firefighters on the scene reported heavy flames and smoke in the second story of the residence, and quickly helped the citizen off the roof.
They then entered the home and attacked the blaze while searching for any additional residents.
A civilian and a firefighter each suffered minor injuries, and were treated at the scene.
Crews remained at the home until 2:30 a.m. conducting salvage and overhaul operations.
The blaze caused an estimated $75,000 in damage leaving the lone occupant displaced.
The cause is still under investigation.
