Big Brothers Big Sisters Wisconsin Shoreline is calling their recent “Big Draft” event a major success.
According to Denise Wittstock, the Chief Executive Director for the organization, 50 people stepped up to become mentors for youth in Manitowoc and Sheboygan Counties.
The “Big Draft” party was held at the Stefanie H. Weill Center on April 22nd, where BBBS celebrated “Bigs” and their “Littles,” as well as “Top Draft Picks”, which are the new mentors recruited during the campaign.
Wittstock tells Seehafer News, “The success of The Big Draft campaign means that we can continue to bring the need for mentorship to the forefront of community conversations. We still have more than 150 young people waiting, so the conversations must go on.”
