A Wisconsin senator is seeking information regarding the Fort McCoy blaze this month.
Senator Tammy Baldwin questioned the Army in a letter issued Monday on a controlled burn that may have started the blaze at the fort.
Over three thousand acres were burned by that fire, which also forced several residents to leave their houses.
Fort McCoy is now considering damage claims as a result of the fire, although commanders there claim they have not yet established if their controlled burn was the cause of the fire.
Baldwin is curious about the type of risk analysis the Army conducts prior to lighting its controlled fires.
