Laura L. Dewane, age 88, formerly of the Park Falls area, went home into the arms of her Savior on Tuesday morning, April 18, 2023, at Brillion West Haven Assisted Living.
The former Laura Wagner was born on March 28, 1935, in Park Falls, daughter of the late George and Grace (Parker) Wagner. She was 1953 graduate of Park Falls High School and later attended Lakeshore Technical Institute of Cleveland. Laura worked as a welder at Manitowoc Engineering Company becoming the first woman welder in Manitowoc County. She later worked for Anheuser- Busch in Manitowoc where she retired. Following her retirement, she became an apartment manager for the Doneff Company, which she always said was her favorite job. On May 24, 1992, Laura married Michael P. Dewane at Triumphant Christian Church in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on May 9, 2022. She was a member of the Connection Church. Laura was an ambassador to always spreading the Word of God. She would volunteer her time to help people in different organizations in the community with her husband. Laura was a very hard-working dedicated family orientated woman of God. She loved her family and would make sure everyone knew how special they were. She was proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with everything they did/do in life. She always had stories to tell that would make you laugh and just feel at home. She always knew there was a plan and if not, one would be shown to her. She never gave up and always believe that if there was a will there was a way. She was a kind and loving person. She had a special bond with animals and loved her cats.
Survivors include her children and grandchildren: Wanda (Chuck) Olson and their two sons: Philip and Daniel; Donna (Robert) Birringer and their three daughters: Sarah, Katelyn, Kari; and one great-grandson: Jaelyn; David (Dawn) Pritzl and their two children: Corey and his fiancé Bailey, great-grandson Gavin along with her children: Jackson and Audriana; Jenae ( Tony) and two great-grandchildren: Grace and Luca; Wayne (Glenda) Pritzl and their two children: Jeremiah (Stephanie) and their three great-grandchildren: Lucas, Claire, and Isaac; Jessica (Alex) and their two great-grandchildren: Padraic and Anneliese; Bryan (Tamara) Pritzl and their children: Alex and Caden; eight siblings include: Cecilia (Lloyd) Lewallen; Walter “Butch” Wagner; Annette Ray; Betty (Lawrence) White; Carol (Bud) Weinberger; William (Carol) Wagner; Lydia (Bill) Miller; Mary (Brian) Eimermann; two step-children: Christopher (Kristin) and Jamey (Holly); six step-grandchildren: TJ, Holly (Jordan), Abigail, Samuel, Martin, and Hayden; one step great-grandchild: Alice; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law include: Eugene Dewane; Rocky (Lynn) Dewane; Patti (Danny) Schmidt; Bud (Sue) Dewane; Betty Bubolz; Jerry Dewane; (Ron) Christianson; Anita Dewane; Karen (Leroy) Sorenson; Barb (Glenn) Brandl; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: George and Grace Wagner; her husband: Michael Dewane; former husband and father of her children: Glenn Pritzl; one sister: Grace Burnham; one infant brother: Bobby Wagner; one brother: George Wagner Jr.; three sisters-in-law: Rosemary Wagner, Sandra Dewane, Mary Dewane; eight brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law: Robert Koeck, Gary Ray, Andrew Dewane, Daniel Dewane, Joseph (Mary) Dewane, Tony Dewane, Victor Dewane, and Elmer Bubolz.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 24, 2023 at the Connection Church, 1455 N. Rapids Rd., Manitowoc. Pastor Gayland Hendricks will officiate with burial at the Knollwood Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m.
