Charges have been filed against a 13-year veteran of the Green Bay Police Department.
Officer Matthew Knutson is accused of misconduct for his actions during a traffic stop on November 23rd, 2021.
Dash camera footage shows Officer Knutson driving toward 47-year-old Robert Sanchez and ordering him to the ground.
Sanchez runs up onto a nearby sidewalk, and Officer Knutson follows him in his squad car, striking him from behind.
Knutson then gets out of his squad car and tackles Sanchez, who had again begun to flee.
Officer Knutson was placed on Administrative leave in October, but on Tuesday, the Brown County District Attorney’s Office announced official charges of Misconduct in Public Office and Negligent Operation of a Vehicle.
Police Chief Chris Davis has stated that the Department is conducting an investigation into any policy violations as well.
