There were two fires in Manitowoc over the weekend. The first occurred in the 900 block of South 26th Street at around 6:00 a.m. Saturday (April 15th).
Crews quickly arrived at the two-family residence and were told someone may have been on the second floor.
Crews entered through a second-floor window and cleared the building of any occupants before extinguishing the blaze.
A cat was also rescued from the structure and returned to the owners.
Then, Sylvan Crossings of Maritime Gardens, located at 1945 Dewey Street caught fire at around 7:30 p.m., also on Saturday.
The building was evacuated as crews began attacking the blaze.
It was quickly extinguished while traffic on Dewey between South 18th and 21st Streets was blocked off. No injuries were reported in either fire, and the causes have yet to be released.
