The Lakeshore Wind Ensemble has announced its final show of the 2022-23 season, and it will include a very special piece of music.
The concert known as “An American Salute” is scheduled for Saturday, May 6th at the Capitol Civic Center, where they will have a musical tribute to our country’s great composers, veterans, and our freedom.
The Ensemble will perform pieces such as “Irving Berlin’s America; Black Granite”, honoring Vietnam veterans, selections from six Star Wars films by John Williams, and a song never before performed, “What These Waters Remember” composed by Manitowoc’s own Joey O’Connor.
O’Connor is a 2022 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln and is in his first year at Lawrence University where he studies music education, composition, and trumpet.
