The Better Business Bureau claims that fraudsters are trying to obtain banking information by impersonating Best Buy and PayPal employees.
The scam starts with an email asking about a bill or new subscription that appears to be from PayPal or the Best Buy Geek Squad.
The BBB claims that when customers call, scammers collect personal and financial information before defrauding them of their money.
According to the BBB, never divulge financial information over the phone, and be wary of emails you didn’t request.
