The season started out on a strong note for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers but quickly declined.
The Rattlers defeated the Beloit Sky Carp 4-2 Friday in their season debut but fell 4-2 Saturday and 5-4 Sunday to lose their first series of the season.
The Rattlers’ bats were working to start the rubber match, with Wisconsin jumping to a 4-2 lead in the 3rd inning.
Starting pitcher Stiven Cruz went four innings, allowing 2 runs on only 3 hits while recording 3 strikeouts, but his replacement, Brannon Jordan struggled.
In his one inning of work, he allowed 2 hits and the 2 runs which knotted the contest at 4.
The Rattlers could only muster two more hits the rest of the way and closer Kaleb Bowman could not record an out and allowed the game winning run for Beloit.
The Rattlers will take today to rest before starting a six-game series against the Peoria Chiefs at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton.
