A firefighter with the Appleton Fire Department has beaten cancer.
Six months ago, Keegan Murphy was told he had Stage Four Non-Small Cell Adenocarcinoma, and he quickly began treatment.
Then, on March 24th, Murphy underwent a complex and lengthy surgery to attack the cancer head-on.
Two days later, doctors had the best news possible, the cancer was no longer detectable in his body.
He has since been released from the hospital and is now recovering at home.
An online fundraising effort has been started by a family friend on GiveSendGo, which as of this morning has raised nearly $87,500.
