A 46-year-old Sheboygan woman has been sentenced in a fraud case from 2021 in Manitowoc.
Donna A. Duprey was found guilty due to no-contest pleas on charges of Theft of Movable Property and Attempted Fraud Against a Financial Institution, while charges of Taking and Driving a Vehicle Without the Owner’s Consent and Forgery were dismissed but read into the record.
Judge Jerilyn Dietz ordered her to spend 3 years and 4 months on probation following 30 days in the County Jail.
Duprey was arrested in August of 2021 after she attempted to cash a check at U.S. Bank in Manitowoc.
She claimed her sister had written the check a few days prior, but a quick investigation revealed that the account the check was linked to had been closed for several years.
Duprey then admitted to stealing her sister’s vehicle earlier in the week, and the checks were confiscated.
