The Lighthouse Recovery Community Center in Manitowoc is getting some money from the Department of Health Services.
The DHS recently announced that three organizations in the state were going to get a portion of $10 million to aid in their treatment and recovery support services for women, and Lighthouse made the cut.
They are getting $180,000 which will be used to create a space for pregnant women and mothers who are in need of some safe and stable housing during their treatment.
An existing building is being renovated to house up to seven such women and is expected to be operational in 2024.
The remainder of the $10 million, which comes from the National Prescription Opiate Litigation Settlement funds, will be split between Arbor Place in Menomonie and Meta House in Glendale.
