A Manitowoc man is facing drug charges following a traffic stop near Lake Michigan.
A Manitowoc police officer was on patrol in the 600 block of Maritime Drive early Thursday morning when he saw a vehicle cross over the yellow line.
The officer conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of the Manitowoc Marina and recognized the driver and passenger from previous contacts.
Both individuals exhibited what the officer said was “nervous behavior”, leading them to be asked out of the vehicle.
The female driver admitted to using meth the previous day, and that her 30-year-old passenger likely had the drug on him.
K9 Riley was called to the scene and gave several positive hits which revealed a used smoking device and just over 5.5 grams of what later tested positive for methamphetamine.
The man was arrested on charges of Possession of Meth with Intent to Deliver, Drug Paraphernalia, THC, and Other Drugs, Carrying a Concealed Knife, and six counts of Felony Bail Jumping.
