
The numbers are in, and the unofficial vote tallies from yesterday find there has been no change made in local city leadership.
In Manitowoc, incumbents Brett Vanderkin, Chad Beeman, Michael Cummings, Tim Boldt, and Todd Reckleberg were all reelected into their aldermanic roles, but the contested races were all relatively close.
Vanderkin won by 45 votes, Cummings by 70, and Bolt snuck by with 10 more votes than Brian Anderson.
In Two Rivers, the incumbents won as well, with Adam Wachowski, Darla LeClair, and Bonnie Shimulunas earning decisive victories.
Their closes challenger was Shannon Derby, who was 308 votes behind Shimulunas. In the Manitowoc Public School District, there are two new people joining the Board of Education.
Biff Hansen was the top vote-getter, followed by Chris Able. The duo ousted incumbents Collin Braunel and Kathy Willis.
The referendum did pass, with 5,626 people voting yes, and 5,286 people voting against it.
Meanwhile in Valders and Brillion, their school districts requests for more money were both denied by the voters.
