Pet owners are being reminded of the importance of cleaning up after their furry friends.
In a post on Facebook, the City of Manitowoc noted that pet waste can carry harmful bacteria that if left on the ground, can make its way into the local lakes and rivers.
To help keep those waters clean, pet owners are encouraged to bring waste bags with them when they take their four-legged family members out on a walk, and at home.
Be sure to dispose of that waste properly, as there are pet waste stations located around the city.
