What started as a simple traffic stop ended with a fatal crash in Sheboygan County Thursday evening.
According to the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy had attempted to stop a vehicle on State Highway 28 for a moving violation just before 8:00 p.m.
The vehicle instead sped off, and the deputy took chase. A short time later, the suspect vehicle left the roadway just south of Highway 144, causing it to roll.
The 30-year-old Kewaskum man behind the wheel was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene and will be conducting the investigation.
The identity of the man has not yet been released.
