According to UW Health officials in Madison, local facilities have been infected with a fungus that the CDC considers a health risk.
According to infectious disease specialist Doctor Dave Andes, the university health care center has seen “a few cases” of candida auris.
According to Doctor Andes, the fungus infection is still very uncommon and should not alarm the general public.
The CDC as of now has one clinical instance of candida auris noted for the Province of Wisconsin.
