With the sheer number of school shootings and threats in the U.S., parents, and the public are continuing to voice concern over sending their children to schools.
The Green Bay Area Public School District is taking some more steps toward ensuring the safety of its students by installing a new security system.
The $1.8 million crisis alert systems will be installed in 40 buildings in the district.
Students and staff will then undergo a training course to ensure everyone knows what to do if the alert were to sound.
Teachers will be given badges they can use to activate the system and lock down the school as necessary.
Centegix, a Georgia-based company, began the installation over spring break, and the District has said they hope to have the system operational by the start of next school year.
