The man deemed responsible for a 1986 homicide in Green Bay has been sentenced.
68-year-old Lou Archie Griffin was ordered to spend 10 years in prison for the death of then 22-year-old Lisa Holstead in what was considered to be the longest unsolved murder in the city’s history.
Griffin was found guilty due to a no-contest plea in January on a charge of Homicide by Reckless Conduct.
Holstead’s body was located in the Ken Eures Nature Area in August of 1986, showing signs of being sexually assaulted and strangled.
Improvements in DNA technology were finally able to lead investigators to Griffin, who admitted to potentially having sex with Holstead, but denied killing her.
